We wandered down to Tate Modern today for a stroll in the latest exhibition – a dark lightless 13m high chamber by Polish artist Miroslaw Balka. Ascend the ramp and continue walking into the endless darkness (before bumping into the felt covered walls). You’re provided with a slightly odd, disorienting experience. As your eyes acclimatise and you exit the chamber you leave thankful not to have awkwardly bumped into another visitor.

Go experience it for yourself (in the evening) between 13 Oct 2009 – 5 Apr 2010

Excitement doesn’t get better than this! Introducing Space CAM! , nothing to do with the sky at night but a simple camera to keep an eagle eye on the parking space outside our flat. When the motion sensor detects more than 10% of change, an image is taken, it’s uploaded to the site and the Volvo is moved. Impressed?

For the moment I use the excellent EvoCam software.

The Design Museum are showcasing the best British creative projects and people over the past 30 years. It was fascinating looking at all the 90s work and remembering that this was the very stuff that inspired me to work in design.

There’s also a fantastic exhibition by the talented Javier Mariscal. All of this mans best work spanning 30 years is on display till the 1st November. Really great stuff.

We went to see the latest Design Museum exhibitions at the weekend. The first 1000sqm floor is currently home to a fantastic exhibition by Richard Rogers Architects. The space is full of wonderful architectural models from all areas of architectural consideration. Models include the Pompidou, Millennium Dome, Milan Airport and Zip-Up house to name just a few.

There’s also some great typography signs hanging from the ceiling – the exhibition is on until 25th August – then it moves to Barcelona and Madrid in 2009.

Further up the stairs on the top floor, there is also some really great product design from Industrial Facility. More pictures found here.
