Abigail Uhteg from Presse Janvier presents her video of an epic book printing project she completed over two months at the Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY. See 35 hand-bound books come together in wonderful stop motion.

A beautiful book shot by the young Andrew Zuckerman. 

Inspired by the idea that wisdom is the greatest gift one generation can give to another, award-winning photographer and filmmaker Andrew Zuckerman interviewed, photographed and filmed 50 of the world’s great writers, actors, artists, designers, politicians, musicians and religious and business leaders of our time. He posed seven questions to each of his subjects – all over 65 years of age – and their candid responses offer uniquely inspirational and often surprising insights.

Watching the trailer is quite captivating and touching. I have told S that I’m very proud of her making a difference everyday working as a midwife in London.

For those of you who missed it last week (like me) the BBC is repeating the documentary of Stephen Fry and the Machine That Made Us - it’s on again this Friday (25th Apr) at 9pm on BBC Two.

Stephen Fry goes in search of the story behind the first media entrepreneur Johann Gutenberg - the man who invented the printing press – to find out why he did it and how. The story combines both historical enquiry and hands on craft and technology. It is through these practical trials and tests that Stephen demonstrates the brilliance of Gutenberg’s invention and brings the man and his machine to life.

I’ve had a look around and you can catch it again on the BBC iPlayer and TV Replay on your set top box, as well as five parts on YouTube.
